Pretty gross huh? This was taken just after the cast was removed. Check out those nails!! The scar is from his pointer to the crease by his thumb to the middle of his hand. Its not the best picture but he wouldn't let anyone see it. I'm glad to say the nails have been trimmed, the smell gone, and the flakiness is no longer there.
He walks around though with the pointer sticking straight out like he is pointing at someone 24/7. We call it his permanent nose picker. Not that he has started doing that but its a little joke to make us feel better that his finger isn't getting better.
We were concerned about the pointer always pointing so we called the doc. Because it is still pointed, even when he sleeps, there is some concern that the surgery wasn't successful. While its still a little too early to tell, we are hopeful but at the same time have a sick feeling that says his finger isn't okay.
We went to therapy today and the therapist was concerned as well. He will not use it and probably can't use it. We will see what happens. If he doesn't start to use his hand and get that finger working, even a little, then next week they will have to splint the left hand to force him to use the right. My poor little man, he can't help it. Hopefully this week we'll get a little movement out of it.

Poor little Harris. We feel so bad for him. Luckily, we have TONS of medical advice at our fingertips, and the best hospitals around. So sorry buddy.
